FINANCIAL QUALIFICATIONSÂ
Today’s parts stores generally require a minimum investment of $500,000.

LOCATIONÂ
It is helpful if prospective owners already have a location and building in mind or selected.

APPROVAL PROCESS
We will present your credentials and proposal to our New Business Committee for approval.
04.
YOU’RE APPROVED
You will receive notification that your proposal is approved if the New Business Committee signs off.
05.
BECOMING A CARQUEST
Once approved, we will provide the list of support we provide during the 16 week onboard process.

Are you Financially Qualified?
Today's parts stores generally require a minimum investment of $500,000. The great thing about investing in a parts store is that it's a safe and steady way to grow your wealth and build equity in your business, and we have the tools to help you manage it. If you require financing, it's necessary to have $50,000 - $100,000 of cash available as banks typically lend a maximum 80-90% of the inventory value. If you do not have an existing relationship with a bank, we have a preferred lending program we can recommend where a minimum credit score of 680 is required.

Do you have a location in mind?
As the saying goes, "location is everything!" Many prospective owners come to us with locations and buildings picked out. With our
technology and expertise, we can help you determine if the site will be successful. The responsibility of identifying and securing a
location is yours, but we're here to help! Some key contributors to a successful location have to do with many things such as:
• Is there an Advance Store in the market? We recommend a minimum 10-mile radius of separation.
• Is there a Carquest Independent nearby? It's important to respect the nearby owner's service area. This is handled on a
case-by-case basis.
• Is there a good sampling of do it yourself (DIY) and commercial (PRO) business? We have sales forecasting to help determine this.
• Visibility - Is it on a main road or easily visible?
• Access - Is it easy to get into? How many entrances are there?
Open Floor Plan - Is there adequate space for a sales floor and a warehouse?
In some cases, we have owners who are ready to retire, and we can help broker a transaction to buy an existing Carquest location.

Let's get your store approved!
We believe it's a special thing to be a Carquest owner and we place a lot of emphasis on picking the right people. Once you have been financially qualified and a location has been determined we will present the opportunity to our New Business Committee which is comprised of key decision makers across our enterprise. While the financials and locations are important to us, it's equally important to have owners with high ethical standards, believe in the features and benefits of our program, and will work well with our team of professionals to drive sales and provide the most value to our DIY and PRO customers.

Is Carquest store ownership right for you?
Congratulations! You're going to be a Carquest owner! You will receive a proposal that lists all the ways we will help you with your new
store. It typically takes 16 weeks to prepare for your first day of business! During this time, you will work with our local sales team and
a Market Development Manager to make decisions on things such as: floor plans, inventory, signage, business plans, new pro account
set-ups and so much more! And we will help you every step of the way!
